katie.brooks 10 Posted October 17, 2012 I found out something interesting today when I went to see my PCP. She said that there isn't any consistencies of how any meds are absorbed with the sleeve. Because some meds are designed to be absorbed slowly or quickly. Has anyone else heard this? How do you take your meds? On an empty stomach, or with food? SexySlim 107 Posted October 17, 2012 Taking the meds with or without food should be indicated on the label. Food affects the absorption of some medicines. For some it does not matter, it all depends on the medicine. Meds that are designed to release slowly are delayed/controlled release or pills that can be taken once a day and release slowly through out the day. I did ask my surgeon if the sleeve affects the pharmacokinetics of drugs, he said no. But honestly I don't think there is any research out there to back any claims. I would be interested to see some studies on this.

But would be pleasantly surprised if there is some current research.
