AliciaA122 24 Posted October 17, 2012 So, found out yesterday during my pre-op ultrasound that I have a lot of gallstones. The nurse practitioner I met with in my surgeon's office said I will have my galldbladder removed during my sleeve surgery. Have you had this done? If so, should I expect any other complications, a longer recovery, anything? I'm a bit nervous, but am glad it can all be done at once.
delta_girl 931 Posted October 17, 2012 I asked to have that done but my surgeon refused.
susan0178 10 Posted October 17, 2012 I just got home from the hospital 10 minutes ago- had sleeve and gallbladder removed...not fun but at least it's all done in one procedure! Many times, after significant weight loss, people have to go back in for another surgery because of gallstones. You'll be ok- but it's not easy...be prepared for it and hopefully you have a good support system! Good luck! 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted October 17, 2012 I had surgery 1 year ago and now I have gallstones. I am scheduled to see the surgeon tomorrow afternoon to have consult and surgery scheduled. BLah, I had to cancel my trip to washington dc to see my grandkids. Oh well, at least I don't have the pain that normally accompanies it.
