My Hair Is Falling Off Help!

Recommended Posts

I've also noticed the top of my head is achy. Maybe this is related to the great exodus of hair or maybe it isn't. Anyone know?

My head is still achy today; it was hard to sleep because it was sensitive even on a soft pillow. I wish I could figure this one out. There are small areas about 1-2 inches that feel like they took a beating.

Andy, that's REALLY weird!! You may want to see your PCP or a dermatologist. You may have gotten a rash or an allergy? It doesn't sound normal.

I'm almost six months out and had some Hair loss starting at four months. Saw the most at five months, but I can already see it growing back in. It really wasn't too bad for me. I started taking Biotin (5000 mg) at 2 months out. I've heard that it works, and that it doesn't work, but it DID really help my nails. They are nice and strong now! I have continued to color my hair every five weeks and I cut it shorter too. I also Shampoo daily - I have too as I have oily hair. It hasn't seemed to harm it at all. I did, however, have quite a thick head of hair to start with, so while I can tell it has thinned out, no one else can. I have also been really religious about getting Protein in. I generally make my 65 grams a day, sometimes higher.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
