CCCross 31 Posted October 16, 2012 Well I was feelikng like recovery was going too well and now...my insicions are goey. I've been washing my whole abdomen with hibiclens since beore surgery (Oct 6) and being extremely careful to scrub my hands with hibiclens before bandaids. Called my surgeon and now I'm headed to my PCP to get the incisions checked out. The area isn't warm and I don't have a fever, feel great, but there's pus (gross sorry) coming out. Anyone deal with this? I'm so paranoid about staph and MRSA, that's where my head goes.
IsB 209 Posted October 16, 2012 You're doing the right thing by seeing the doctor. It's probably nothing but it doesn't hurt to get it checked out.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted October 16, 2012 I agree with IsB, it's best to get a doc's opinion. Maybe talk with the doc and caring for your incisions. My incisions were glued shut and I didn't have to put anything on them. Hope it's nothing. let us know please.
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted October 16, 2012 Sounds like you have an infection. I did also in my largest incision. I took antibiotics for 2 weeks and was fine, healing nicely now.
Crystal Woods 193 Posted October 16, 2012 My sister had her sleeve 2 weeks ago. 3 of her incisions became gooey and had puss in them. They put her on an antibiotic and had her clean them with some kind of cleaning agent a couple times a day and they were clean in a couple days.
CCCross 31 Posted October 16, 2012 Thank you for the replies! Dr said they actually look good but gave me a prescription for antibiotics if its not better in 3 days. I've been on way way too many antibiotics in the last 5 years, so we're being cautious about when I take them.
