Be careful about dehydration. Flavoring your Water might help, it does for me. Try using crystal light or mio. I also ordered a product called zero water on Amazon to filter out the water. Even bottles water is strange tasting to me. I am psyched about the zero water as i used to love drinking straight water.

I mix 1/2 G2 with 1/2 Water in the water bottles. It's the only way I can get all my fluids in. For some reason, plain water makes my stomach hurt. The G2 has 7 carbs/sugars per serving, but I always stay under 30 carbs a day, so it doesn't affect ketosis and weightloss. Also, if you workout a lot, the electrolytes in G2 will replenish what you sweat out. Give it a try!

Try Pedialite, they have packets that you can add to Water. I also found Pedialte freeze pops. I'm preop but I bought both of these just in case.

I know it is hard, but you have to really work on getting your fluids in. Even if you do not feel thirsty, your body still needs to be hydrated. You can become very sick and land up in the hospital if you don't. Try what others have said. I could never drink plain Water, like someone else said. It tasted funny and never sat right in my stomach. Also, have sugar free popsicles, tea, Jello and Soup broth. It all counts as fluids and helps to keep your body hydrated. It is one of the hardest parts right after surgery, but just keep trying!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
