JustSkinnyMeInside 89 Posted October 16, 2012 Do you still have your gallbladder? I dont know if it could be that but since its a new pain that persists you should call your surgeon to be safe. Leaks can still happen this far out too.

Annie B 89 Posted October 16, 2012 What Are the Symptoms of Gallstones? Gallstones often don't cause symptoms. Those that don't are called "silent stones." A person usually learns he or she has gallstones while being examined for another illness. When symptoms do appear, they may include: Pain in the upper abdomen and upper back. The pain may last for several hours. Nausea Vomiting Other gastrointestinal problems, including bloating, indigestion and heartburn, and gas From WebMD

Scaredy Cat 92 Posted October 16, 2012 Is there a reason why the surgeon doesn't take them out as part of the procedure if its very possible to cause problems/pain?
doxieville 799 Posted October 16, 2012 Good question, and i'll be interested in what other people say. I have read on here that some surgeons do take it out during their sleeve surgery. For me, it would have been too much for my body to deal with as I also needed a hiatal hernia repair. Also, from what I understand, it isn't a given that your gallbladder will act up. I had stones pre-op so for me it was mainly a matter of time before I needed it out. Unfortunately, I needed it out sooner than later at 7 weeks post-op. . Ready4success 380 Posted October 16, 2012 Is there a reason why the surgeon doesn't take them out as part of the procedure if its very possible to cause problems/pain? Most surgeons order a gallbladder ultrasound to see if there are gallstones before surgery. If gallstones are present, even if the patient is asymptomatic, insurance will pay for both surgeries to be done at one time. Gallbladder problems are probable after large amounts of weightloss, but not absolute, so insurance doesn't cover prophylactic removal. They just wait until you have an attack, then they have to pay for the ER visit, the gallbladder surgery, and the recovery. Really smart, huh?

I don't think I got nicked - I think it's my body adjusting or a pinched nerve. The neurologist is concerned though, so MRI it is.
