Not Feeling Well

Recommended Posts

I swallowed a whole Multivitamin today which I normally don't do and I've been feeling really sick all day. Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone before? Please help!

Try something warm to make it disolve faster. I do not encourge this, but it is super easy to vomit if it has not been too long since you swallowed it. I do not make it a practice to do this but every now and then as I try new stuff and it does not agree I will. Now don't everyone rush to tell me how dangerous it is, I have only done it 2 or 3 times in 6 months.

Deek- i'm not sure what you are saying is unsafe? Drinking something warm makes perfect sense.

Oh, I reread it. You are suggesting vomiting. I think it may be too late.

to vomit on purpose is what I was referring as unsafe. I do thinking drinking something warm should be the first choice

Something similar happemed to me last night. I took my pills too close together and the last one that was a gel one, kinda got stuck and I did go throw becasue I had the earge. I HATE to throw up! But it was acidic. Just walk it off, it helps when I just walk and walk. I cut my pills in half because for whatever reason I have trouble swallowing some of them. space them out and take little sips of Water. Hope it helps!

might help to try and eat something to absorb some of it. Vitamins have always made me sick. I try taking them with food and it helps.

I had to take 4 huge antibiotics for dental work. My tummy hurt so much I ate a bowl of mashed potatoes!! I decided I needed something to absorb the pills and carbs be damned. It worked!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
