Oct 1Was My Operation

Recommended Posts

Everyone is different . I just think you get what you put in to the sleeve. So I figure I try to do as much as I can safely while the motivation is still fresh. I know there may be a point that I might slack and get comfortable. But I'm trying to avoid that for as long as possible. So attack the fat with all you have. Lol

My surgery was October 1st too!! I go for a walk around the neighborhood about twice a week, about thirty mins or so... I was told 30 days after surgery I can begin light exercise. I am not back at work yet so I try and keep my self busy and NOT laid up in the bed all day. I cook, clean, and I try to move around as much as I can. I do get a little light headed when I over do it, but it seems to pass easily. I start soft foods on Monday , so I have been planning my meals out and doing some research on foods I will be able to eat and looking up recipes (I hate store bought or procesed foods, especially Soup, I've had enough, lol). Just trying to not get in the habit of laying around, doing nothing...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
