Recommended Posts

I went to my last check in appointment and was given some forms for blood work, as well as a stress test appointment all they said was i have to wear comfortable shoes. just wondering if anyone on here has had this test and what its like. I heard u have to run on a treadmill and stuff. just wanting to know more info to be prepared lol.

I had it before my surgery but had it done with the meds because I couldn't handle the treadmill. Had it before on the treadmill. Its doable. Wear comfortable shoes. Call the dr office and ask for specifics, that way YOU have less stress. It will be worth it! Good luck.

I have had two stress tests before... They werent too bad, but not very fun at all. The first one, the nurse was very polite and stood by my side the whole time. Also in the room was a doctor and another nurse, just in case things didnt go accordingly. I was having chestpains and shortness of breath. On the second test (for my cardiac clearance), there was tech and she was ity bity, like 5'2 98lbs, all attitude, I was like <_< anywho....

When you take your test they first, do a echogram or like a ultrasound of your heart and attach some monitors to your chest (you will be wearing a gown, but able to keep your pants and shoes on). There is a treadmil beside the bed. Beginning at walking pace, the nurse wil continuously increase the speed and incline. The highest I got to was a 4mph. I was struggling so the nurse said I only had to do 5 min (thank god!). After you run on the treadmil, you immediately hop back on the bed for your heart to be examined exactly like before. Then your all finished. You'll get a towel and some Water, and be on your way.

I did but not for the surgery; just as a part of annual check-up. It's not bad.

No, I can't say a stress test ever came up as a requirement by insurance. It seems a little dangerous considering those who consider the surgery typically are BMI 35+ with comorbidities or have a BMI greater than 40. I fall into the latter classification pre sleeve. That is just my opinion on it.

Yes. Ecko, EKG and stress test all in the same day. Other than being out of breath, it was easy.

They did tell you it was a timed 5k, right?

Just kidding... :)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
