I think if you have insurance to cover the cost weight wise would be great, I started my journey with weight wise but my ins wouldn't cover it and I think you get nickeled and dimed, after more research ive decided to have my surgery done in Tijuana Mexico by Dr. Fernando Garica, total cost for me should be 4700.00 barring any complications.travel is my responsibility, they cover 3 nights at Marriott and 2 nights in the hospital and food,

Yes. I stayed at the Marriott. It was nice and very comfortable. It was also within walking distance to Wal Mart and the movie theater. I actually caught a cab to Wal Mart, because it was about a mile uphill, but the downhill walk back was not bad at all. I'd stay there again.

I stayed at the Marriott as well. It was very nice and a lot of employees spoke English.

I used Dr Keith in Norman at OWLO! He's wonderful!

Hi! I've been seeing Dr Keith since Dec 2012 and scheduled in 2weeks (8/28) to have my sleeve!! So far I've been very happy with the whole process, it's taken so long due to my insurance requirements.

I didn't have weight loss surgery with Dr. Keith but I had an emergency surgery 10 years ago and he pretty much saved me. He is a great doctor.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
