Bflartey 0 Posted October 14, 2012 I can work from my iPad. Would I be able to check email every half hour or so?
shrinkydinkme 221 Posted October 14, 2012 for me it would have been day 4 .... Pretty much slept my way through the first 3 days, the first 2 I only got up to use the bathroom, shower and walk, day 3 was leaving hospital and getting settled at home. Day 4- I might have been able to do something every half hour for 8 hours straight but even that day I took a nap. It seems silly but getting your liquid, vitamins/medications and Protein in each day in the beginning is a time taxing chore! I only sent 1 text the day after surgery to tell those planning to visit not to come. Day 3 I was way better, but still would have resented a commitment I needed to keep every half hour continuously. My surgery was complication free and my pain was minimal

legal loser 77 Posted October 14, 2012 I was on my IPad and cell phone the evening after surgery. Granted it was for personal uses and not work uses. Day 2 I forwarded several emails from my work email (via my phone) to my boss and answered a couple of general questions. I checked email one or two times daily for 2 weeks and then the last few days of medical leave, I was checking email and working from home more often. It's kind of up to you how much you can do that early. I enjoyed and took my 2.5 weeks of medical leave and did minimal work. I was focused on myself and getting myself better....I knew work would be there and that my boss would call me if it was an absolute emergency. Good luck! readyforachange 51 Posted October 14, 2012 I was using my iPad and iPhone from the hospital. I slept most the first day. But was glad for the company of technology on my second day. Mainly to get back on this site. 1 ShouldBlittler reacted to this

SkinnyMinnie2Be 255 Posted October 15, 2012 I was on my iPhone the minute I woke up checking in with people to let them know surgery was successfull. Checked emails, made calls. After my surgeon saw me he said to call his office and make a one week post op appt. I emailed his receptionist. She was surprised to hear from me so early! KennetteW 2 Posted October 15, 2012 Mine was done as an outpatient. I went into surgery at 11:00 AM and by 6 PM I was back at my RV checking e-mails and reading the forums. It depends on the type of person you are and your body's ability to bounce back.
