I do, I wasn't losing weight but gaining weight so me and my Nut decided I needed to try something I knew how to do, well that was my words and she agreed so Now I eat healthy choice, smart ones, lean cusine, I can only eat a little more then half depending on how big that certain dinner is. But I dont think its making a difference I have dropped only a couple pounds in this last week since I started, if by the end of this week I don't lose anything I'm thinking about seeing my surgeon. Sorry I went on and on I'm just having a hard time with having this major surgery and very little weight loss.

I could eat them, but avoid them because most are loaded with simple starches (rice, noodles, potatoes, etc), and light on Protein. The salt content is also typically quite high.

I ate them pre op all the time ... Now I keep my carbs below 40 and they dont work in my plan. When my carbs are high I am hungry, have cravings, and dont lose weight. You will deff lose weight with low calorie but you will lose weight quickly with low carb. I wanted to be at my goal weight yesterday so I am following the 600 to 800 calories/less then 40 carbs/more then 60 prot/min 64 oz Fluid. I know each doctor is diffrent and every nut has their own suggestion. I am a mexico sleever and didnt like my doctors post op plan. He basically didnt have restrictions on carbs or calories. I am followingg the eating plan that a lot of the successful vets on here used. It is working for me. I have lost 122 lbs in about 5 1/2 months! Best of luck to you. I hope you find a plan that works for you!

Seems like you're doing great! 122 in 5.5 months is amazing. We have similar eating plans (even though im not hitting each goal every day) and I was just wondering what your exercise is like if you don't mind my asking.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
