I'm with Teresa on the cooler time frame. :(

If the big meeting was on a Saturday in Vegas I could definitely make it with enough advance notice. Drive/fly in Friday night, drive/fly home Sunday.

I also agree with Babs - not as big/fancy as a bash. Just more like a huge party. A huge slumber party. :D Just one big mooshy "feel the love" party... :D

But there has to be a LOT of laughing. Tons of laughing. :D

A big slumber party sounds absolutely fabulous!!! We can all relax and jibber jabber. Too bad we don't know anybody with a great big vacation house. One thing we could see about doing is renting out a whole bed and Breakfast. We frequently have people do that at the one I work at. Last year a group of airline stewardess rented out the whole place for three days and they had a blast. When we have weddings we require the family to rent the whole place out for a two night minimum. I don't necessarily need a bed as I have an air mattress. I cannot wait!!! Teresa

Let's shoot for October then. That gives everyone enough time to save up money for plane fares. And you can get them really cheap. Southwest is really cheap if you get them early enough. How about a weekend thingy. We arrive on a Friday, have a pre-determined place to meet, then we head to Delarla's for some fun fun fun. If that is OK with Her and hubby of course. We could check and see if there is a bed and Breakfast close by that we could rent out. I like that idea.

This is gonna be fun fun fun.

Can't wait.

Hubby hates a houseful of eating & drinking women.... NOT. He recently showed up at the tail end of a neighbor's party. There were 4 drunk women - and him. I heard him bragging to his buddy in the garage the next day.

I don't know of any bed & breakfasts, but I've heard the prices at The Excalibur are pretty cheap and they have those rooms with attached doors.

Lisa how will hubby feel about a bunch of FAT DRUNK women?

Which hotel(s) is closes to your house?

I think a hotel will be more feasible then a bed and Breakfast, I have this feeling we are all going to be prett loud and rowdy and wouldnt want to get kicked out of the bed & breakfast. Adjoining rooms is exactly what we need!

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

I'm so there! Someone pick a hotel and I'll start looking for package deals.

My sister and I went to Vegas in February for three nights and our flight AND hotel where $298. OK, so the place we stayed at smelled a little like vomit- but whatever!!!!

My husband likes his women with a little meat and says "making love to a skinny woman is like having sex with a gunny sack full of antlers." When my skinny friends comes over, he always tells me to fix them a sandwich. He's been sober 5 years but I highly doubt he'll have a problem with a houseful of pajama-clad drinking women (cuz I think we should do pajamas even if everyone's staying in separate hotels.) He puts up with my parties and house guests all the time - even helped with my recent Pamered Chef party. Besides, who wears the pants around here? I DO. Just don't tell him I said that! But ask Chris "who is boss around here?" And he'll point to me.

Warning, he'll want to play the beginning of "Smoke on The Water" for you all with the amp turned up very high - over and over and over. I have a box of earplugs. He also might want to show you welding techniques. Just go with it.

My house is at the Windmill exit from the 215. You can see the entire strip from my corner. I'm 3 miles south plus 3 miles east of Mandalay Bay. But all the casinos are close.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
