Maybe to get back on track make a rule for yourself,if you have to eat its got to be protein.I think it will make you full and you will just not be able to eat too often. And to toughen things up for yourself do dense Protein like chicken breast, meat. If you dont feel like Proteins do chopped carrots, cucumber ect.

Sometimes if we make our own rules we find it surprizingly easy to follow, unlike when someone else makes the rules.

You can do this!

Instead of just saying "I'm not gonna eat" come up with what you're gonna do instead. Earlier in the day, that might be a walk or even just going in the backyard for a minute to get some fresh air and sunshine.

Set up your kitchen for success by eliminating as many problem foods as you can and stocking up on good foods instead. For example, I don't buy chips, Cookies, etc. They are occasionally in the house because hubby gets them, but I do not. I buy things I like that are good for me that I like, such as fresh fruit, yummy versions of low fat lunch meats and cheeses, and low cal drinks. Right now I'm loving the sugar free apple cider mix I found and the teeny gala apples that I bought straight from the orchard. I also like the sugar snap peas, v-8 juice, and cherry tomatoes.

For me, my devil time is after dinner. If I want a snack after dinner, I might:

1. Do something else with my hands, such as play solitaire with real cards or draw.

2. Make a cup of fall-flavored tea, such as the pumpkin Spice Roobios at Trader Joes right now. I like mine with Splenda.

3. Put on lip balm and hand lotion.

4. Try on my new cute clothes that fit comfortably now that I'm at goal and staying there!

5. Go to bed and get some sleep.

6. Take the dog for a quick walk.

Also, when I'm struggling, I use a white board on my fridge door to track what I eat- Protein, calories, and fluids. Seeing it on the fridge door slows down my snacking.

Best wishes on your journey!

Lynda

Time to get back to the basics and eat nothing but Protein and veggies for a few days to get rid of the sugar cravings you have and to get back in to the habit of eating healthy. There is a diet posted my LilMissDiva called "The Basic Bootcamp.: It's awesome to get back on track. Here is a posting of it:

The BASICS BOOTCAMP:

For 5 STRICT DAYS I will eat only...

Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry and eggs, Dairies, nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter.

Veggies: Green only.

Fruits: None.

Breads/Cereals/Other Carbs: None.

Fluids: One gallon of Water (128 oz.) or Protein drinks.

Avoid: Sugar and Sodium

Once the 5 days are over, I am pretty much over the Sugar Carb Demon. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate carbs! I do need them to live a healthy life and since I workout a lot it is important I have them. However, I need GOOD carbs. Whole grains, fruits, veggies... But I don't need processed sugars. White carbs, in cereals, breads, rice... etc.

You can do this! :)

Try shocking your body again and do fluids only, sometimes going all the way back to the begining brings on a new perspective.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
