One Year Ago I Started Blogging My Journey...

Recommended Posts

I have been in 7 countries in the past year and have lost 83 lbs and reached my goal weight. I posted the TOP TEN things that were the biggest parts of my journey on today's blog; plus two passport photos taken a year apart...even if you don't read the blog, these photos say it all! I wanted to thank Alex and all the people on the VST forum who have followed my year long journey on www.queenofcrop.com; you have been an inspiration to me every step of the way!

Mahalo, thank you, Dankuwel, etc....

Hi I have been reading your journey all day and have not even stopped for a coffee it was that interesting. I am so pleased to hear how natural a loss you had at a few pounds per week and also how interesting to hear about the different places you visited. I live quite a ordinary but wonderful life here in Scotland and will be finding out next Thursday 25 October when I will be sleeved and due to your very informative blog I am so looking forward to my journey.

Thanks again

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth and welcome to the forum! October 25 is the exact date I had my surgery last year so I think that's a great sign for you! Keep coming to the forum for lots of good information and if you have any questions...thank you so much for reading my blog. I think we should have a European group....I'm not sure how many of us there are. Good luck and keep us posted on when you get a date.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
