Has Anyone Cheated On There Phases?

Recommended Posts

I do believe that 6 days out is a little early to be eating the chicken and noodles from chicken noodle Soup, but each surgeon is a little different in their instruction.

I was told by the surgeon that they have you on liquids only so that nothing gets lodged in the incision line and causes an infection to set in and/or leak (both of which could require further surgery where they open you up with a 5 inch incision). That was enough to scare me....

Certainly not here to judge you but would encourage you to get back on the phases and stick with them, you will have plenty of time to eat in a few weeks for the rest of your life.

Good Luck!

I totally sympathize! I have 4 more days on full liquids, then I progress to mushies or pureed foods and right now I am so sick of liquids I could gnaw on a bone. Lol! BUT, your stomach is still very swollen. Stick to your doctor's plan. Better safe than sorry. :-P You have the rest of your life to eat & chew "real" food!

I was suppose to be on fluids for the first 3 weeks, and I added some yogurt, sf pudding, sf Jello. It wasn't a problem at all for me.

i had some crackers on my tenth day, I just needed something to nibble on. I ate one (slowly, swear that I chewed it 50 times) and put the rest in my broth.< /p>

I am 10 days out and was wondering if it is too early to try scrambled eggs, even if they are put in blender. I am going crazy from 2 week diet. I am drinking Protein Shakes, ff/sf puddings, and Jello. Is this considered the mushy/pureed or does that come after the two weeks. I am meeting with my nut on the 19th. Has anyone tried scrambled eggs before two weeks.

I tried eggs about 3 days post op & they made me sick. My surgeon told me I may not be able to eat them for a couple of months but not to count them out. It will prob have to be a trial & error for you. You may not have any problems but I did . I'm 5 weeks post op now & I'm still not ready to try them again...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
