Almost 6 Wks Out & Super Tired

Recommended Posts

I know it takes a while to get over major surgery, but I feel like I wasn't as tired between weeks 4-now. I am wondering if maybe I am not getting enough Protein? I have been averaging 40-50 grams a day. I'm more sleepy tired. I've napped almost every day this week, which hasn't been like me since about week 3. Thoughts?

Are you getting enough fluids? I start feeling sluggish when I slack off on the fluids.

How about some B-12 and Iron supplements, they help me.

I take a 100 oz bottle of Water to work everyday & try to drink half. Usually I don't quite get to half, but pretty close! I will work harder on that!

You should be taking in 64 ozs. of Fluid daily, 60 grams of Protein and try 4 Flintstone chewable vitamins (2 morning, 2 night) and 2 Caltrate 600+D (1 morning, 1 night) and 1 B-12 500 mcg sublingual - this should turn your fatigue around. If not, see your doctor.

Thanks! I'm doing 2 flintstones, the B12, but not caltrate. I will work more on the liquids & add the extra Vitamins.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
