Leslie Hudson-Couch 11 Posted October 13, 2012 It took about a week for it to ease up for me. After that I was golden! Good luck to you!! I am 3 months out and feeling fantastic!!
Gig 27 Posted October 14, 2012 I'm two days out and having pain swallowing too. I'm doing my best with fluids but it isn't easy. I'm hoping tomorrow will be a turning point because other than that, I'm good. Hope the same for you.
Holly5.3 423 Posted October 14, 2012 I'm on day 3 post-op and the gas/burping is unbelievable! Everything I try to drink gives me more air and gass! vanilla shake w/ H2O, broths and apple juice w/H2O. I'm trying to get my Protein in but the gass is really getting to me. I'm taking a prescribed med for stomach accid and eating GasX chewables-nothing is helping. I'm walking around the house-hurts to stand up straight still-not ready to be outin the world. I try to move my arms and legs while resting to get it out. How much longer (burp...scuse me!)??? 1 Leslie Hudson-Couch reacted to this
chilihot59 156 Posted October 14, 2012 I'm about 10 wks out and feeling great! The first few days, first week can be a royal pain in the #$%!!! Take smaller sips, basically get tiny bit of Fluid in your mouth and llet it slide down your throat. Took me awhile, because I realized I was a gulper. Just keep sipping. The gas hurts, belly sore, but, I had to really push myself to get up and walk. Even for a few minutes at a time. I, did this as often as possible. It really helped! Hang in there, rest when you need to, walk when you don't want, and cherish this journey!!!
Lucabelle1313 36 Posted October 14, 2012 Gas x strips, a heating pad, and walking were my best friends. It goes away after about 6 weeks. Sounds like forever but is not.

I'm thinking how can I keep drinking things that are making me feel worse, not better! I need to slow down. I'm trying to get up and go downstairs every hour or so and march in place and spend time with my family. The sun always rises after the dark...this too shall pass!
