Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on Sept 18 and have lost 20 lbs since. Two week ago I stopped losing weight. I have read many post saying this is normal. My question is?? How long so they usually last. I'm ready to see that scale move????????

Hi VGS on 8/29 and I was stalled for about 2 wks after I started full liquids. I always measure myself when I have a stall and I see that I am losing inches. I went from a 24 sz pants to 16 and 3x to 1x blouses. Bra sz from 48dd to 42dd. Day before surgery I was 213, my highest wgt was 243 in 2005 and today 195.4. So slow on wgt loss but lots of inches. Hang in there things will start moving. I just make sure I have enough Protein everyday. Stick to your MD's or NUT's orders.

It can lost 2-3 days or 2-3 wks. Each and every stall is different. Taking your measurements and see if you are losing inches....hang in there...

Mine started after week two and lasted four to five weeks. I didn't lose that many inches during that time either. But when my stall broke I lost 12 lbs in 14 days and the loss has been pretty steady since then, with a few shorter stalls. Just give it time.

Hey Newbie

Stalls can last different time periods for different sleevers.

Since you are relatively new to WLS, 2 weeks stalled, i would venture to "guess" within a couple of weeks the scale will probably start moving again. gotta be patient

that being said..... the last few lbs are hard to get rid of

i have 10 lbs til goal ------------i've been stallllled for 2 months + , do you hear me screaming?

of course not, i shut the door

good luck

I know this had to take patience. 4-5 week stall? I'm two days past two weeks and have been in a stall for about 4 days. I can't complain though because I am down almost 20 pounds since surgery and that's pretty good. Like everyone states, I think my body is trying to catch up, but I can certainly feel a difference in my clothes. Good luck to everyone out there....If you're in a stall... I'm right there with ya... let's be patient and get through this. We CAN do this!!! Thanks to all the Vets out there with their insights.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
