ForMyfamily 84 Posted October 13, 2012 I would really like to know also as many people say they hit around 30-40. But I am constantly hitting around 50 carbs. Is this to high?
TamaraS 235 Posted October 13, 2012 Are you losing weight at 50 carbs? I am curious as to what calories people are at to lose weight regularly?
Getting There 198 Posted October 13, 2012 I'm 5 weeks post-op. I average around 50 carbs/day. Some are as low as 28 and one was as high as 68. But typically around 50. I've been on a pureed diet for the past 2 weeks. It's amazing where those carbs hide! 18 carbs in a Tbs of honey...... Never would have looked at that before. I have a cold and enjoy lemon tea with honey. Not going to give up the honey but I'm only using about 1 tsp/mug instead of my normal 1 Tbs. It's all about compromise and deciding what we can live with.
doxieville 799 Posted October 13, 2012 My NUT has me under 20 carbs because i'm very sensitive to sugar. The upside is I can have unlimited calories & fats. 1 TamaraS reacted to this
Getting There 198 Posted October 13, 2012 I just found some notes I took that say average 15 carbs/serving & 2 servings/meal. That would be 30 carbs/meal which seems high. I have a NUT class on Thurs - I'm going to ask for clarification now for sure. I'll share what I find out.
lrainb 32 Posted October 13, 2012 When all there is are carbs fats and Proteins and the Protein is half of total ... The other two make up the other half no? Keeping fats to a minimum means the rest will be carbs especially if you need fiber!! The trick is to get good carbs like fruit and veggies not sugar:-) so yes.... 40-60 is fine!!! DebInAZ 76 Posted October 13, 2012 All though I have not had my sleeve yet the post-op info that I have say 55% protien,30%carbs, 10-15%fats per calorie load, so I guess you have to calculate that with the amt of calories you take in.
Fiddleman 4,376 Posted October 13, 2012 I get around 10-20 carb a day because I focus on eating as clean and pure Protein as possible. This is probably different from most folks who are post-op more then 1 month. I will be correcting the ratios as I get closer the end of weight loss.
Socketpinch 15 Posted October 13, 2012 My NUT said I can start on Beans and veggies today. I went to grocery store to get beans and they are loaded with carbs but I won't be eating a lot. Are any of y'all eating beans and what type of beans are you eating?
Getting There 198 Posted October 13, 2012 I've had fat-free refried Beans a couple of times. Added 2 Tbs salsa, a bit of grated low-fat cheddar and a small dallop of low-fat sour cream. It's a nice treat, but because of the carbs, I won't indulge very often.
It's all new 453 Posted October 13, 2012 I stick to 20-30 grams of carbs per day. I think this is a fairly common number for those of us who are carb conscious. I think this is a key to my success, but there are differing opinions for sure. 1 TamaraS reacted to this
iggychic 1,405 Posted October 13, 2012 My nut said not to focus on carbs as long as they are healthy carbs. I eat a lot of bean Soup and broccoli cheddar which are high carb and am losing. 2 TamaraS and Getting There reacted to this
