mparkersmith 72 Posted October 7, 2013 When I was on soft foods, I ate things like refried Beans, scrambled eggs, soft cheeses (I love babybel cheeses!) yogurt, hummus, mashed potatoes, canned greens Beans, canned carrots, grits, deli turkey breast, lentil Soup. Good luck, TeeTee12! It gets soooo much better. As far as the topic, I'm just over 4 months out, and I aim for 700-800 calories a day.

WendyMay 13 Posted September 30, 2015 It seems easier to get more calories in once you get to the stage 5 diet (regular foods). I'm having trouble staying at 800. Regular foods have more calories. I'm concerned also that I am losing weight so slowly because my body is in "starvation mode." I'm only a month out, and I've lost 20 pounds, but it is now coming off very slowly. Veronica Page 488 Posted October 1, 2015 I'm 8 months out and eat anywhere from 900-1200 calories a day but I work out a lot...every day and its high impact so I need more food and if I don't eat enough I hit a major stall. I do eat carbs but a lot but I need them and I tend to change up how much I eat everyday. Some days I'll even intake 1500, then 1300 then to 1000 its called caloric confusion and helps when I stall out. Only time I drink any calories is when I have a Protein Shake cause I'm low some days otherwise its sugar free iced tea and Water. Good luck to everyone! MistyLH85 0 Posted December 4, 2017 I am 2 weeks post op and eat 600 calories a day, my diet consists of the soft food still, cottage cheese, pudding etc. I am losing about 5-6 lbs a week, but I exercise daily at the park, really helps because you burn off some of those calories! dreamingsmall 1,125 Posted December 4, 2017 I'm 10 weeks post-op and I eat about 1,000 calories. Sometimes a lot less. Yesterday I ate a lot of carbs, so that took me out of ketosis (I could smell the difference). But it does take our body some time to get used to our diet change. Are you exercising at all? That might help the scale move a little faster.10 weeks .. 1000!? What will you be on at 3 months and then 6 months?Do you excersise alot ?Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app 1 AlwaysCruising reacted to this

Even though I started eating soft foods I have not had ANY carbs except the few in broccoli and cheese. I was told this would cause faster weightloss by my surgeon. scale hasnt moved in two weeks. It makes no sense. Im worried I will have to go back on all Clear Liquids to lose additional weight. I have been doing a ton of article searching for info on this but every one's experience is so different its hard to find out why Im not losing. It is normal to have a stall at 3-5 weeks post surgery. I am currently in the middle of said stall. I amd 28 days post surgery. The first few weeks was Water weight, these next couple of weeks your body is adjusting to the shock of the surgery and the change in eating habits and amounts. After about week 6 the weight should start coming off again. Here are some additional tips: 1. Check your weight no more than 2x per week. If you need to, put your scale away on "non-weighing days" to ensure that you won't use it. 2. Focus on your HABITS and enjoy the journey. This is not a yo-yo diet. It is not a quick fix. This is your new life. Treat your body with kindness and you'll see what amazing things it will do for you. 3. Remember that weight loss (when graphed) often looks like a staircase rather than a steep slope. Some days you'll lose, others you won't. Don't judge yourself based on those numbers. 4. If you do weigh yourself, make sure that you are also taking note of your measurements. Fat takes up a lot more space than muscle. If you're losing inches and slowly losing pounds, this is often an indication that you are losing fat rather than muscle. If you do notice the dreaded "3 week stall", think of it as a badge of honor, a milestone, and "just a phase". Rather than thinking of your journey being "off course", remind yourself that it is just beginning. Time to enjoy the ride! 1 mistymorning reacted to this
