delta_girl 931 Posted October 13, 2012 Fantastic! I remember that it felt difficult to swallow, or at least very different, in the first day or two. Just take it slow and be patient with yourself. It is really easy to swallow air. Some people say don't use a straw, others say use one. For me, I found that using a straw helped me to not swallow air and made it easier to drink. Don't let yourself get dehydrated! It will feel like just about all you do all day long is drink, but you are really just taking little sips constantly. 1 Bornagain reacted to this

Bornagain 9 Posted October 14, 2012 Congratulations, glad to hear your doing good. It is sad to see that some people have horrible pain and throw up so it is nice to hear from someone who is doing good. I also did not have many problems.

charchar 7 Posted October 15, 2012 Day 4 back at home finally I feel fine no pain no nausea I be been drinking liquids mainly Water and Isopure plus Liquid Protein I find it easier to drink from a small tea cup than from a water bottle because you still swallow air but a small tea cup feels like if you we're drinking tea or coffee

deltatrans44 32 Posted October 20, 2012 Congrats!! Im 3 days postop. No problems swallowing but cannot manage to get minimum 48oz of liquids down. I feel so full all the time and get very uncomfortable when I try to force liquids. For swallowing my dr recommended taking small sip, breathe all the way OUT of your nose, and then swallow. Supposed to eliminate the air. Hope this helps
