Bmarion662 76 Posted October 12, 2012 All I was having a pedi done and the lady sitting next to me was having hers done prior to having her full body lift. I asked her how expensive it is to have the lift and she said her surgeon is doing it for no cost as she is having it done at burn center and donating thr excess skin to burn patients.. Now that brings a whole new meaning to being a doner. Our fat killing us saving someone else... 2 Spirit Fire and lisalalani reacted to this

imgonnaloseit! 30 Posted October 12, 2012 The link below might help. They stress talking to your plastic surgeon first. http://www.ehow.com/how_5403044_donate-skin-after-weight-loss.html
Fiddleman 4,376 Posted October 13, 2012 Is this legitimate? That would be great to get the surgery for free when insurance won't cover it due to it being cosmetic.
suegirl 109 Posted October 13, 2012 Everything that I have found spells out how you WILL NOT get your surgery for free nor reimbursed for it because of the legality of PURCHASING an organ which is illegal...
Banned member 320 Posted October 13, 2012 I wasn't even worried about the free surgery because I would donate my excess skin even if I had to pay full price for the surgery. I figure they are going to throw it away anyways, so if they can put it to good use then that would be great. 1 rubinsml reacted to this
FDclerical 318 Posted October 13, 2012 My insurance covers it if its "medically necessary " causing rashes or irritation and such and u have to wait at least a year after surgery to apply. My friend told me they donate the skin to burn victims as well. Sent from my SCH-R720 using VST

Bmarion662 76 Posted October 13, 2012 Maybe they gave her financial aid to help her pay for the surgery. She said she was oringinally over 400 pounds. 1 suegirl reacted to this
