Any Pre-Op Sleevers In Dfw, Tx?

Recommended Posts

I'm in McKinney, TX. and pre-sleeve. I'm heading to Cancun for mine, though. Insurance wants me to give them both arms and legs to have WLS and definitely feel this is the way to go for me. :)

He mentioned about a possible hernia but never about possibly getting any monies back....wow another one of God's blessing's if that happens but then I don't want a hernia either so a catch 22 isn't it?

My friend had her's with Dr Kim as well on Jan 30th has lost 90-lbs. We had dinner the other night and she looks absolutely great, happy, healthy a glow that I never saw in the 20+ years I have known her. She has been a great asset with advice and knowing that not everything that worked for her will work for me.

Dr Kim is very direct and honestly if your looking for bedside manner he is not your guy but his staff you could not ask for anyone nicer. I am okay with him not being great bedside manner...all I care about is his experience, results and past patients experiences...all of which have been good.

I have started writing in a journal to help with my emotions, excitment, etc. I have only told a few friends and my immediate family.

My friends said December 13th Christmas time...my response. There will always be other holidays, etc and this is no different so bring on December 13th...

Thank you all for the information and support. I can't wait for December 13th.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
