My One Year Anniversary!

Recommended Posts

Well, my one year anniversary was on Sept. 27, 2012, and I am down 86lbs. I am very excited & blessed to have come thus far without any issues or problems. I am down from a size 26 to a 14W, from 296lbs to 210lbs. I am so close to "onederland"!! I am continuing on my journey with about 50lbs to goal. I will post pictures soon.

It has been an amazing journey. Before surgery, I had diabetes, high blood pressure, acid reflux, and lots of swelling. All diseases are gone, but still dealing with some acid reflux. I feel so much better physically and confidence level has skyrocketed. I am excited about continuing my journey in the coming months.

I am so happy for you. I am really shocked it has been 9 months for me, and what a difference it can make.

I think of where I would be right now if I had not had the surgery and it is actually scary to me...

"Where would I be right now if I had not had the surgery?"

what a thought - hmmmm interesting new topic??

whomever might be regretting WLS - possibly missing future events with their kids b'day parties/ holiday parties et al

with help of WLS, you will be nice and and healthy for that adoreable little b'day girl/boy

or not having had the WLS, being able to eat the whole b'day cake just not able to run around enjoying the party with your little one

btw Zoelife - not forgetting you

big congrats on weight loss & continueing life with the sleeve!!!!!

Congratulations, very inspirational and nice to NOT hear "I ONLY lost....blah blah blah". So many are so down for not losing 100 lbs in 6 months or whatever that magic number in their head is. Thank God for people like you who embrace it no matter how long it takes to lose it!! More people need to take note and be more positive, thank you for that!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
