Started my 10 day pre-op liquid diet today! Made a big mistake of getting a big tub of chocolate flavored "Gladiator" from smoothie king without testing it out first. I am NOT a fan! Any suggestions of other brands or what you did that tasted decent enough? It's 11 am of day one and I'm already complaining haha

Thanks!

Are you mixing it with Water or skim milk? I find I like any of the chocolate powders better with the milk ;)

I have found Synteax nectar are pretty yummy! If you google it you can find some good deals. I would start with sample pack as you get almost all the flavors and can tell which ones you like and go from there. At si03.com they have a 14 packet special for 15.99 I believe. And they are low(if any) in fat/sugar and like 25 grams Protein per scoop!

I also use the Synteax nectar or Matrix the chocolate is pretty good. Mix it with milk the fruit punch is nasty its so tart. Bariactric choice is normally where i order mine.

I use Syntrax Matrix as well. I like the Milk chocolate because its not too sweet. I mix mine with almond milk because i dont care for milk. I ordered mine from My bariatric pantry. I've been nothing but pleased with them. They have a sample pack of both the Syntrax Nectar and of the Matrix.

It's a trial and error journey right now but the right mix and flavor is out there.

If you have a costco close to you the vanilla premier Protein... is great! Taste like tapioca pudding!

The chocolate Premier Protein is a wonderful smooth chocolate flavor!

You can taste the Vitamins in them, however they are very yummy! They have 30 grams of Protein in each shake too.

I have tried others, but these are my fav!

Has anyone had luck with a dissolvable Protein Powder? I bought what I thought was dissolvable, put it in broth, it all foamed up at the top and hardened...assuming it had to be kept cold? Who knows! Now I'm on the lookout for something unflavored and truly dissolvable!

Isopure vanilla!!!

50grams of Protein per serving (2scoops). For variety I add Torani sugar free flavor.

Best,

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
