Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted October 12, 2012 So I had my surgery on September 10th. I gained 7 pounds during surgery and it took me a week to get it off. I then proceeded to lose another 14 pounds over the next two weeks. This brought my total pre and post to 30 pounds, so at this point I am very happy! So then my weight loss starts to slow down, no big deal right, I have read alot about stalls so I am prepared. So I start into a stall but then the unbelievable happens, I START TO GAIN WEIGHT, I am doing everything the same food, exercise, Water I have just started into soft foods. As you can imagine I am dumbfounded. The only thing I can think is I have started back on BC pills. Has anyone experienced this? I know, I know the weight will come off but I feel so defeated already. Can anyone help me through this? Thank you for your support 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Mensch 150 Posted October 12, 2012 It happens. Think about what you ate before and what you eat now. There's no way you can't lose weight. Remember, your body is freaking out of the changes right now and does some crazy things....this is normal! Trust me! 4 Ms skinniness, Threetimesacharm, michelleooo513 and 1 other reacted to this
soccermomx2 111 Posted October 12, 2012 I agree - your body goes into a shut down mode as it is dealing with the new changes from surgery. Just keep following your plan and try not to stress out. I know it is hard but try to look at the long road ahead and how great you will feel as the weight comes off. I think we all hear stories about people just having the weight fall off but that wasn't the case for me. I think I am a consistent loser....not too fast and not too slow. Sometimes I will drop 2-3# and then bounce up for a bit but it always comes off with extra. In the past 3 months since surgery, I have lost almost 42# which just blows my mind. You are doing GREAT!!! Just get lots of rest, drink your fluids and get your Protein in with a little bit of increasing exercise and before you know it all of those pounds will add up to big numbers. 4 kmwheel, JerseyGirl68, Ms skinniness and 1 other reacted to this
JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted October 12, 2012 I always gain regardless of my diet the week before my TOM. Water weight. Could this be the culprit?
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted October 12, 2012 Thank you everyone, you have made me feel so much better. Jerseygirl yes TOM was present during all of this I just thought that it would come right back off near the end.
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted October 12, 2012 Oh soccermom congrats on your weightloss. It brings tears to my eyes just to re-read your post. I hope to be at 42 pounds lost soon too.
soccermomx2 111 Posted October 12, 2012 @Amazon13....Thank you so much for the congrats. Yes, the TOM thing can throw you for a curve. Also, my 2nd month I didn't even have one which is very common due to all of the changes going on in your body. You will level out - just realize that this is a marathon we are all on and not a sprint. You too will achieve your goals!!! 1 AngelBaby reacted to this
Kelly123 13 Posted October 12, 2012 I was the same way only a couple days ago. 2 weeks in I gained 2lbs. There were a few things I was doing wrong. # I was weighing my self whenever I wanted even daily. I need to stick to one time a week in the morning. #2 I was taking in too many carbs, so I cut all that out. #3 I wasn't hitting my Protein or Water goals for the day. And finally I am a woman. I retain water and I have cycles. My weight is gonna go up and down. You will make out just fine!
Katnroyal 225 Posted October 12, 2012 I always gain regardless of my diet the week before my TOM. Water weight. Could this be the culprit? I always have a stall during TOM and either gain a few pounds or I don't lose any.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted October 12, 2012 I lose some weight and then I gain some weight. It fluctuates up and down and now I'm not stressing about it anymore unless it goes over 5 lbs weight gain. I am weighing myself at least 1 time per week at the least. I thought I was done losing and low and behold I lost a couple of pounds. That feels really good too. 1 JerseyGirl68 reacted to this
funkeechiggen 135 Posted October 12, 2012 How often are you weighing yourself? Maybe stick to weighing yourself once a week instead of every day (if that's the case)? 30 pounds in a month is FANTASTIC!!! 1 Threetimesacharm reacted to this
altagirl 127 Posted October 14, 2012 I am so sorry to hear this - I would be just as concerned and even really annoyed! I think you got some great advice - the weight should keep coming off.....at least that is what I am hoping! I am at that dreaded stall and feel frustrated but know that this too shall pass.
