This would be sooo much easier if I had someone doing it with me! I would love for both of you to be there when I'm there! That would be great! We could all support each other!

That would be so awesome! It would be nice to arrive with a support system walking the walk together!

When are you all paying your deposits and getting plane tickets?

I am saving for the $500 deposit now. Then passport cards for husband and I, then plane tickets.

Is anyone scared about crossing over the border? I was cutting a little Hispanic girls hair the other day and she said that she wouldn't go there because they try to get into your vehicle and they climb all over it trying to get in! But she said mainly at night. Ugh. This is freaking me out!

I'm paying my deposit this coming Friday. Got my passport pic done at Walgreen's for only $10. Then I'm taking it to the post office. Going to book airfare thru Hotwire.com.

A little nervous... But mostly not. We will have escorts to and from who know how to get the job done safely.

Dr. Lopez :) but haven't decided if I wanna go to TJ or PV... More than likely TJ though because I'm not gonna be able to enjoy the beach and all that coming out of surgery.

Dr. Lopez using a brand new hospital in PV. I have only heard rave reviews from it.

PV sounds great but I want to go when I can really enjoy it. The money saved by going TJ can be applied to the PV vaca celebration!! :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
