takroom 192 Posted October 11, 2012 AMEN!!! So tired of people who know nothing about this surgery thinking it's an easy fix...I think it takes a strong person to make the decision to do WLS. It's a tool we have been gifted & it's up to us to make the life long commitment to use it. 4 carolinafan, SkinnyMinnie2Be, bkz3 and 1 other reacted to this
gmanbat 5,889 Posted October 11, 2012 I used to travel around, lost, not asking for directions...no matter what. My wife couldn't understand my knucklehead. It was natural for the stubborn side of my man nature. What is natural is not always what is better. I learned to ask for help. I learned to use google maps and rely on a Garmin, too, after a period of arguing with everything it said. Us humans invent things to help us. It is part of that higher reasoning thing. We figure out work-arounds to problems. That's what WLS is. It may not be as natural and it is not easier but it is a solution and it is effective. In my case, a life saver. Could I have lost over 100 pounds without it? Theoretically yes, practically, highly unlikely. 1 Nick'sMom reacted to this
