I'd I spell that right?

I'm curious. Have any of you used these during the early stage when the surgery weight was bloating you? It's not on my " never use" list and I was thinking it might help eliminate the bulk and pain in my midsection (from below the breast to the top of my legs) . I feel and look like a starving baby from those commercials that I always turn off cuz they break my heart.

I know it's swelling and Water weight gain from 22 days on ivs in hospital, but it's fairly not comfy..I feel 15 months pregnant!

Hmmm, I don't think diuretics would be a good idea cuz they will most likely dehydrate you, and you don't want to get dehydrated. I would check with your doctor to see if he has an alternative.

One intern suggested it in hospital after I was meeting my goals, but he's an intern and he wasn't mine so I didn't pay much attention. It's just so uncomfy being the stay puff marshmallow tummy lol.

You definitely need to clear this with your doctor. I take a Water pill for my blood pressure and per doctors orders haven't taken it since the day before surgery because of the dehydration risk. I'm hoping to never have to take it again!

You my still have a gas buildup that you can't feel pain from. I would start walking as much as possible and increase your Water intake so it is forced out!

I always wanted to know this to. I swell alot and take them ever so often but I haven't had surgery yet so i don't know. However, I would make sure to ask the Dr first. Have you tried to up your Water intake?

I would not take them if I were you.. so funny seeing this because I spent a lot of time this evening thinking of what Water pills would do to my body with the lack of liquids already. I used to get bad bad muscle cramps when I took them with my blood pressure meds and I had to take potassium. so I could only imagine now that I don't get more than 10- 20 oz of water a day.

Try and get more liquids and maybe a gas reliever like mylanta maybe?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
