Have any of you switched to using Baby Silverware to help make the portions not seem so small? I am just wondering.

I use my son's baby fork and it helps SO much! I eat too big of bites and get so much gas pain with a regular fork. it also slows me down from eating too fast which is somthing I struggle with.

I bought baby spoons and forks on line, and it helps with portion size bites. I think it's a great idea.

I didnt think about it slowing me down when eating, but that is a really good plus.

I found an adult "looking" baby-sized spoon & fork at World Market. It does help me take smaller bites. Highly recommend them!

I bought them at the dollar tree and never even took them out of the package. I used a regular teaspoon and just never filled it halfway. I cut my pieces about the size of a dime and put my fork down and chew like 30 times before I swallow.

I've been trying that too! Getting sleeved on the 22nd. I also decided to get some cute cups and saucers to eat off so it won't be a big plate with a tiny bit of food on it when I get to solids

I've also found that using a ramekin for Soups, cottage cheese, etc. is a nice way to make the portions look bigger than using a regular bowl. I've learned that just over 1/2 of the ramekins I use is 4 oz so I don't have to measure everything when I use them.

For taking things to work, Rubbermaid make 1/2 cup containers. They are PERFECT for single servings of 2-4 oz - again, don't have to measure.

My surg is oct 25. Today at Target i bought 4 - 4oz baby containers, pack of tiny spoons and forks (brand was Take n Toss)

Also new measuring cups and a 24 oz water bottle. They only had one type with ounces marked on the side. It was $11.99

Also got Biotin and sublingual B-12. Zinc was on sale but they were out. Made a trip thru men's dept and bought 2xl sweat pants for hospital. I'm NOT a man, and couldn't help but think "these wont fit long!!!"thank goodness!!! Should be the last time i buy anything for ME, in mens dept!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
