Stolen Car Warning!!!

Recommended Posts

I think this is a great forum to share my story. I went to T.J this weekend for the bike race between Rosarito and Ensenanta. 51 miles!!!! I finished. I thought I was going to die. Anyways.....Sunday morning at the Travel Lodge Hotel in San Ysidro (U.S side of the border) my car was stolen. The police officer said it is a sad and common occurance. He said my poor little Honda Accord is probably a mere skeleton of his former self and now living in Mexico.

I lost $3,000.00 worth of bikes, a digital camera, my fiancees police badge and ID, glasses, clothes, etc......

Here is what I learned about my experience....

When I need to go back to T.J for medical care, and I will go back, just NEVER to Dr. Lopez!!!!!!! I will take the train from L.A to San Diego. I just don't want to risk taking my car (what car??? when I get another car) down there. Or perhaps if I take my car...I will leave it in a better place in a more central San Diego location.

Just thought I would share.

;) That is really a sad testimony. I had my car stolen in Corpus Christi as well and was told the same thing; that if it made it to the border, I'd never see it again. Thankfully, we walked outside just after it had been stolen, and I remembered the license plate, so a cop was sitting at a convenience store and saw it go past. Eventually, the guy driving stopped the van and jumped out, so we recovered it, so we were lucky. You were closer, I'm sure it's gone for you. It's too bad our world is getting more and more like this instead of better. :)

What about the Mexicoach lot?? I drive a relatively new Mercedes and I always park there. The only problem I've had is one time someone spilled something sticky on the passenger window/door area.

I am going down again this weekend and my boyfriend has talked me into driving the rental car down but we will park at the hotel in downtown S.D (fancy hotel with valet parking) and take the trolley into T.J.

I will never see that car again I realize. At least nothing bad happen to us physically.

JUST BE CAREFUL MY FRIENDS.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
