justaboop 6 Posted October 10, 2012 Oct 16th is my surgery date but have this cold I cannot kick, I don't want my surgery delayed Amy suggestions?
Pinky Green 260 Posted October 10, 2012 I was told that they probably wouldn't postpone the surgery unless you have a fever. I had asthma and a bit of a cold the day of surgery. They had to give me some oxygen post-op and kept telling me to breath but I was ok about 2 hours later.
justaboop 6 Posted October 10, 2012 Thank you pinky, how long has it been since your surgery?

I went yesterday had my final appt with the dr, registered and signed the surgery docs. I am so excited for this journey, I have struggled for years with my weight. I am so glad you said that b/c that's one of my biggest fears right now... it seems like everyone around me is sick! My coworkers are sick and my oldest daughter is just getting over bronchitis and I'm also scheduled for the 16th!
justaboop 6 Posted October 12, 2012 My doc ok'd me but it is up to the anesthesiologist on the day of surgery. I have a slight cough and a stuffy nose but clear lungs. Hope you don't come down with anything, I was so stressed about being sick and that it slowed down me getting better, I am ok now. Good luck
Pinky Green 260 Posted October 12, 2012 I used to always get bronchitis every time I had a cold - 4-6 times a year. About 6 months ago I started using Zicam at the first sign of a cold and the colds have always gone away without going into bronchitis. I like the quick melt Zicam better than the hard candy type. Pinky Green 260 Posted October 12, 2012 And by the way, even though the Zicam cost probably 6 or 8 dollars, it saves me money because I don't end up having to pay the doctor their $20 copay and then spend $10 on antibiotics and maybe cough medicine or something else, then maybe a trip back a week or so later when the antibiotics don't work and then more antibiotics.
