I am also losing my hair in handfuls! I had tons of hair so I don't notice it yet, just when I shower and pull out all the stands but I am going to add a second Protein Shake to my day and see if that helps. Doc is running blood work to see what Vitamins I am low in too. Any ideas? Any sept sleevers seeing Hair loss yet?

Surgery was 9/10. Total lost (including from pre-op diet) is 47. Not any Hair loss yet - some breakage but I think that's just from coloring, heat styling, etc. I'm getting about 60 gr protein/day without fail and 64 oz fluids without any problem.

Unfortunately, I seem to be able to eat more than just a few bites and I do feel "real" hunger (it's NOT NOT NOT head hunger - even my doc agrees after i spoke with him - it may or may not ever change - BIG disappointment there!!!).

Did well last week. Had just one bite of several things for Thanksgiving dinner and that was it - lost 3.4 pounds so I'm pretty happy about that!

Surgery on 9/13/12 and I've lost 30 lbs since surgery making it a total of 50 lbs total.. went from a size 3xl top and 18 pants to a med top and 9/10 pants. Putting me 30 lbs from goal weight.

But the biggest achievement is my diabetes is in remission. Yay!

9/21 surgery weight 286 and today 246. I see everyone dropping sizes, but I haven't really yet. All my clothes are big on me. My jeans (18 ) I can pull on and off without unbuttoning or unzipping but 16 is still too snug. I just want to drop a size!

Hey fellow Sept sleeves...I was sleeved on 9/12/12 and I am down 47 lbs and I feel great. The only problem is I 'm starting to feel comfortable withy sleeve. Sometimes when i eat my thin crackers I may drink right after a few sips with no problem. I also have had a few sweets. Buy other than that I'm doing good.

Now I have to start working out to help with losing the weight and toning up.

P.s. if anyone haven't tried Emily bites you should. I am hooked. I have tried the lasagna and taco, with my little twist , and they are great!!!

Honestly I'm not going to give the best advice... But I had surgery 9/7.. I'm down a total of 70 lbs... 20 pre op, 50 post op. I eat what I want, when I want, obviously not like complete crap, but I pick high Protein and make sure I get it all. But if I want pizza, I eat pizza. If I want some crackers, I have some crackers. I get all my Water in, I feel like that's the secret. Good luck! Add more calories in.. When I stall... I eat more... Sounds crazy, but it works!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
