I Have Stopped Losing!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 3/9. 7 months ago today and after losing 60, I have not lost a lb in the last month. I heard about the 6 month honeymoon period but this is ridiculous! I have 15-20 lbs to get to goal :( Off to zumba to try and sweat off a few ounces!

Weight loss does slow down the closer you get to goal. But your body is still redistributing your left over weight. Congrats on your success and keep it up! :)

How tall are you? we are about the same starting weight with the same goal. But I am under 2 weeks sleeved. Are you measuring? I bet you look great. :) I have read that sometimes upping your calories can help your body release weight. Don't give up!!

I was sleeved Feb 28 so that is about 7 months ago and my weight loss has really slowed. I think the closer we get to our goal weight the more our body wants to hold on to it.

I am 5'6. I started at 226. I'm 166 today and wearing a size 10. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled. I just want to get to my goal of being under 150. People START diets at 166. I just want to get there already!!!

I'm in the same exact boat, ddfinn. Sleeved on march 7, have lost 60, and stuck on 159. Up a pound, down a pound, for the last month. Starting boot camp tonight. I want to get to 140.

I would also suggest really concentrating on Protein. I have found I stall big time and have to jump state it again with some high protein days.

I was sleeved on 3/12 and I too have been stalled. I have not been eating all the Protein that I'm suppose to though. Also I have not been eating Breakfast or getting an entire 8 hrs of sleep every night :( I suppose I have to work on these things and maybe lose a few more lbs monthly. I've been an extremely slow loser from the beginning but this is ridiculous.

I was sleeved Feb 12th and stopped losing about 2 months ago. Started at 315lbs and got down to 205 and sat there for at least a month. Within the last month I have gained 10lbs back, I'm 215 now and last week started hitting the gym again daily but no change yet. I am also a non stop grazing on chips, crackers, pretzels, CARBS. I got so used to doing nothing and losing weight that I just stopped working out and eating the right things. I am almost back on track again. Just have to kick the carbs. Did any of you have any luck with boot camp??

I agree with ToddG. We get really comfortable eating what we want and losing the weight really fast in the beginning. I dropped my first 48 lbs effortlessly in the first 4 months. I've been up and down the same few lbs for 3 months, but I have lost inches. Just this week I went back to basics and tightened up my diet. I'm only sticking to Protein Shakes, chicken, fish, veggies, and some fruits. The last few lbs will be slow to get off and we have to work for them! Good luck don't give up!

It is so easy to get stuck in a vicious cycle of eating carbs. Our weight loss comes off very rapidly in the beginning and then slows down. Our old habits sneak back in and sabotage our weight loss. Now if your talking about LilMissDiva's The Basic Bootcamp Diet, then yes, it does work. It helps us kick the cravings for carbs and restructures our eating back to basics. I have first hand experience where this has helped me. In fact just recently I've lost some weight using it. I hope this helps. :)

My weight loss is also slowing way down as I move closer to goal, there are times I have veered off in "Carb-Land" and I stall out until I get motivated enough to get back on track. I am certainly there right now, so this week has been better, I planned and prepared meals ahead of time, made eggface's little egg-cupcake bites and I've been having them for Breakfast or lunch, bought some salami & cheese, olives, salad stuff, chicken that I poached and then shredded for chicken salad with low-fat mayo, finely chopped celery and onions and a few cashews. The chicken salad is very filling and high Protein. I do have to keep reminding myself, eat the protein FIRST and let myself feel the restriction, then there isn't room for the bad stuff. I go for my six month check up the first Friday of November, really trying to get a few more pounds off before then, but all in all, I am happy with my weight loss, it is more than I have lost in my entire adult life, and I have good energy. It is certainly a challenge for me but I am down for the long haul !!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
