Why Super Extra Vitamins?

Recommended Posts

I understand that we need Vitamins because we might not get all the vitamins we need from what we eat after surgery, but since we don't have malabsorption why do we need super extra bariatric vitamins? Why not just regular liquid or chewable vitamins?

I was told my nut that all I needed was a normal chewable vit with minerals, calcium chews and b-12 and that was it. So, not sure what they are telling you! I'd be interested to hear what others are being told though!

I take a Centrum chewable, a Calcium wafer, B12 sublingual, Biotin & CoQ 10 (for hair).

Oh, and a pro biotic for regularity.

you guys should try the Bariatric Fusion Vitamins. Its a complete chew-able Multivitamin made for Sleeve, Bypass, and band patients. i have been taking them since surgery and all my blood work comes back normal. Not bad tasting at all and i dont have to have 8 different pills to take. http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-fusion-gastric-bypass-vitamins-supplements.html?gclid=CKbpnPDR9LICFUud4Aod_1sA7A#.UHR3GpgxAxo

Nothing like drinking your Vitamins.

I take two Flintstones chewables with Iron daily (what my program recommends!).

In addition to which I take Vitamin E and milk thistle (for liver function, at the recommendation of my liver doctor.... darn fatty liver!); fish oil; and Citracal Petites. I also have sublingual B12 for when I'm running low between my shots.

Everyone's program is SO different. I wonder if there will ever be a standard for sleevers...

I also use the Bariatrics fusion, makes it so much easier to only have to manage one Vitamin bottle!

I take flintstones chewables, sublingual b-complex. I'm still looking for a calcium citrate pill that's not the size of a horse pill so I haven't taken Calcium yet.
