Yep I'm a slow loser but I was told going into this that I would be. Knowing that does not make it any better. Why am I a slow loser well I was not a big eater I was more of a food forgetter. I'd skip food time maybe eat dinner or eat bad fast food dinner and that would be all I had for the day. Holding a strong 580$ a month Starbucks habit. Very little to no exercise. So I lost 10lb on my 2 week perop diet. Here I am 2 weeks after my sleev I am only down 8lb :( I was wishing for more. I am getting my Fluid and Protein in walking 5 miles a day. My body measurements have not changed. So yeah slow sucks but it's something I knew going in but still makes me sad frustrated and pissed off :( . Ty for letting me vent hugz

Are you at least drinking the Skinny Starbucks drinks? I am pre op but I have tried the Skinny vanilla latte and it is good and so is the Skinny Cinnamon Dolce or even the Skinny Carmel macchiato. You will still be consuming calories from the milk but it won't be as bad. 4lbs per week loss isn't what I would call slow I would definitely take that. Also at what weight did you start at ? I have noticed that those who start lower seem to lose slower as well. The scale is moving in the right direction at least:) If you give up your Starbucks or skinny it down it may move even faster.

Several of us are slow losers, but as long as you are a loser, that is what counts. I also had a very slow metabalism, and I'm in my mid 50's so it is even slower. I only ate 1000 - 1500 calories per day prior to sleeve surgery and not much exercise. I'm trying to beef up my exercise, minimize my carbs, and pack on the Protein, and the lbs are coming off. Slowly, but coming off. Maybe that will make maintenance better?

I have not had Starbucks in 3 months. I gave that up when I decided to get my sleeve.

That is good. My support group leader drinks Believe Protein Drinks and they have 2 coffee flavors I am not sure about caffeine if it had it or not but out program allows it after a few months.

I consider myself a slow loser too and I did anticipate I would be. Pre sleeve, I wasn't a terrible eater but had zero metabolism. So now I eat 500 calories a day (mostly protein) and exercise; i have lost 29 lbs in 2 months. I do feel frustrated when I read about others that have lost double this amount but I am grateful that I am not gaining. Slow loss is better than no loss!

Keep on going, we will get there eventually :)

I am also a slow loser and a lover of coffee. Check out drinkclick.com. It's a Protein Drink mix with espresso. It's awesome mixed with Water and ice in the blender. Better than Starbucks Frappaccinno. I can't get it quite right hot but blended it's great.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
