Christeena 1 Posted October 9, 2012 How long does it take to feel well enough to go back to work? I'm really doubting myself, not sure if my body can take 12 hr shift this soon. 3 weeks seems to soon?
Ready4success 380 Posted October 9, 2012 How long does it take to feel well enough to go back to work? I'm really doubting myself' date=' not sure if my body can take 12 hr shift this soon. 3 weeks seems to soon?[/quote'] I went back to my second job at 3 weeks, it's compressed weekends as an OR nurse, so I do all of my hours in 3 days. I felt fine. I went back to my other job as a surgical NP after 4 weeks, which is on days during the week. That's when I started getting tired. I suggest taking naps on the days you're off, and getting in all of your Protein and fluids, that's important for recovery. Also, start walking before you return to work, it'll help get your energy back. Good Luck!

Very worried about having time to eat/drink. As nurses our breaks are not guaranteed. I'm taking 4 weeks but not sure that will be enough. Good luck.
