I haven't had the surgery yet but any pointers on tighten the loose skin that some may get?

Well, I can't speak for others of course, but I use the dry brush technique and I also wet brush as well (in the shower). I found some body cream with hydrolyzed collagen and hydrolyzed elastin in the top 5 ingredients and I use it twice a day on the areas. I also do 400 to 500 reps with the ole Thighmaster imitation everyday. (yes like the one Suzanne Sommers endorsed)

I must say that my skin has/is tightening. I must also say that I don't know if it's because my skin was going to tightening anyway. If nothing else, the cream does keep the area moisturized. When I started loosing, my thighs looked horrible, I mean they were so bad that I didn't let my husband see me without my thighs being covered. They were bad, cellulite, fat pads almost like a "butt" but in the front...but since I started brushing, using the creams, and doing the reps with the thighmaster they look much better. The skin is shrinking along with the fat. Even the cellulite seems to be diminishing as well. I was just saying I think that by the end of next month the area should be normal looking.

There are videos on youtube about dry brushing and I get the cream from hsn dot com in case you wanted to know. I received a gift card for Amazon dot com and used it to buy the thighmaster- imitation. It was a good buy. I'm not one to tell folks to run out and buy stuff because what works for some may not work for others.

Exercise and keep hydrated, and exfoliation.

Also be aware that skin will shrink slowly, but it will continue to shrink for approximately 2 years after your surgery date. So there is a good chance that the loose skin you have at the 6month mark may still go away.

I use Dr. Graf's products. I've been using the her face products for a year now and I read on here that lotions and creams with collagen is good for loose skin so I'm now using the collagen creams too.

I too worry about loose skin. I've actually had nightmares :-(. I am going to try the dry brush technique and lotions mentioned. I will also continue seeing my personal trainer 3x a week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
