Anything that goes down easily and you dont feel restriction when eating...

For me they would be, chips, ice cream, chocolate, etc..

Hi Karina...I think a slider food is anything that can be digested rather quickly, and doesn't leave you full or stay with you for very long, making it easy to eat again soon. People say to try and avoid these kinds of food because they can potentially contribute to weight gain, which is what we don't want! :)

Soft foods that "slide" through.

Ice cream, liquids, potato chips (that are masticated into nothing before swallowing), candy...now that I am post op by a lot

Solid Proteins like chicken, steak, beef and more offer me a quicker feeling of full.

Its also good to know what slider foods are so you CAN eat them at times when nothing else will go down very well. If you have a problem with any mushy or solid foods that cause troubles with your tummy, you can go back to the drawing board for a day or two to cream Soups, yogurt, sugar free pudding, cream of wheat, 1-2 low fat crackers, etc.

Ritz crackers. I can't remember the last time I actually bought Ritz crackers. Until. I won't be buying them anymore!

My Nut described it this way...

If you put it in a glass of Water and it dissolves or falls apart, it's a slider food.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
