sabbymomof3 11 Posted October 8, 2012 So I'm 12 days out and am wondering what the "slimies" and the "foamies" that I read about are? Also chewing the flintstones Vitamins leave a nasty taste in my mouth. What are the alternatives? And lastly how is everyone measuring food in ounces once we are on soft diet? Like meats and cheeses? Crystal1984 15 Posted October 8, 2012 It normally happens when you eat too much. Your throat produces excess saliva
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted October 8, 2012 at 12 days out - given I am not sure what your doctor told you was ok - I would not be eating much meat. I "felt" my way up to determining an amout of food that wa oK to eat - and still listen to my stomach more than rely on a measurement...I also still time myself. Small times bites are very important. I think the stretching people worry about, from what I have read, is a learned response within your stomach just as much as any true stretching, and is determined by your eating habits. So slow, extremely well chewd bites. If you are transitioning to solid food, try just a few small bites at a time...very small, baby spoon bites...and "feel" it out. Don't wait for full, you just had your tummy cut out! your "second brain" has just had many, many nerves and blood vessels short circuted. Give it just enough to begin to work again. Just enough to provide a little nurishment, several times a day. Good luck.
