You're hitting the classic 3 week stall. Don't sweat it, just keep working your plan and the weight loss will start up again. This is a good time to take your measurements and compare them to your measurements from pre-op, or for comparison down the road. My pattern seems to be that I lose for awhile, then I stall and lose inches during the stall. I walked out of my first pair of pants during a stall. :)

I too am in a stall I am in day 28. It is frustrating because you want to keep seeing the numbers come down. I am going to keep doing what I am doing and I know the weight will follow.

I've been in a stall since I came home from the hospital. I hope the scale is just broke because everything is loose on my & people are starting to ask me if I've list weight. So don't worry, it's coming off!

Take measurements! You'll see a change in your inches which will help negate the mean scale (: best wishes!

EVERYONE goes through this. Read the link in my sig about stalls, it will explain what's happening to you. Just be patient and it will break on its own.

Thank goodness I'm in good company! I haven't lost an ounce for a week or so. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks. I'm down 30 so far but the scale hasn't budged since. Stupid scale.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. I will keep going and I'm sure it will catch up. I will take my measurements too!

My sister had RNY in 2010, & they told her not to weigh herself until the 1 mo check up & she peeked about 2-1/2 wks in & was devastated. Then at her check up she was down 30+ lbs. I'm a daily weigh/recorder & I can't wait to take a month off of WI's!! :) this thread has given me the "OK" to just ignore the scale in Mo1.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
