jennrus 176 Posted October 8, 2012 For about a week now if I eat solid food I feel sick. It feels like it gets stuck in my chest after a few bites. Very uncomfortable. Find myself just wanting yogurt for every meal because it works best. Tried slowing down, smaller bites, chewing more...nothing helps. Kind of discouraged. Eating definitely not enjoyable anymore. mdefabio 73 Posted October 8, 2012 You should call your doctor and tell him/her. Are you taking your acid reflux medication????
doxieville 799 Posted October 8, 2012 Are you eating diff foods than before? Are they drier? Are you still keeping up w your liquids? Did you have a hiatal hernia repair? I def think that you need to call your doc tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side.
changes4me 4 Posted October 8, 2012 I would say you may be dehydrated. I started having sort of the same symptoms; food just wasn't settling and it made me not want to eat or drink. At my six week follow up, my surgeon said that I was dehydrated and sent me over to the hospital for 2 bags of IV fluids. She sounded like it would be a cure all, but honestly, I didn't feel any different after. I did start making myself drink more and once I did so consistently, I began to feel better. The surgeon told me that sometimes the discomfort in the stomach is from dehydration, but your body doesn't realize it. Good luck to you.
