CCCross 31 Posted October 7, 2012 Hey everyone. I was sleeved on 10/6 by Dr Kelly, so I'm less than 24 hours post op. When I got all checked in to the hospital, they measured my height. I've always been measured as being 5ft but was measured here and was told I'm 4'8"(I don't know why but I got really upset about this, must just be nerves). Then the nurses couldn't find a vein and I started to lose control. Huge meltdown almost canceled and went home but Omar (Dr. Kelly's assistant) came in and calmed me down. Woke up from surgery in massive pain and had tons of nausea. Some morphine and a few good upchucks and I felt better. One piece of advice, if you feel like you need to throw up, just do it. Hurt at first but then felt much better. I'm the only patient on this floor, so I have 2 nurses and an on call doctor, who respond to every button push or noise. Feeling much better than yesterday, just feel yucky from the anesthesia, I always get a weird hangover and headache after surgery. Sorry for the rambling, just kind out of it. DDFinn 118 Posted October 8, 2012 Glad you are feeling a little better! My sister and I were sleeved by Dr Kelly in March. She had horrible nausea the whole first day and I woke up and felt great. I was so sorry for her! 1 kmwheel reacted to this

kmwheel 127 Posted October 8, 2012 The nurses couldn't find a vein on me either...I think it was because they took my right in for surgery after my flights and I was completely dehydrated. I'm glad Omar was there to help, he's a great guy. He must be used to the meltdowns by now (I had a huge one when they couldn't find a vein)! I bet you will be feeling a lot better once you get out of the hospital and to the hotel. Keep us updated!
