Yes,everytime a boy posts on here that they have lost like 100 pounds in 3 months I have to stop myself from telling them its not because of what they did but because of who they are...lol

The sad fact is this. When we girls drop our calories even more, cut all our carbs and exercise hard(i mean running hard 3 times a week, doing hard weights 3 times a week and some other cardio as well) we do lose weight faster.I have tested this but can only keep this up for about a week at a time before I get too exhausted and up my cals again and do less intense exercise. But after my last 6 week stall that made me stubborn, rebellious and sulk for the whole 6 weeks I have decided it is easier to just do what is needed to drop some weight ie.eat even less and exercise even more.

It still feels very unfair to me!

I have heard of the 3rd week post op stalls but I have only lost 12lbs since surgery and I am already on a stall. I lost 17lbs before even going in, seems I was doing better on my own. I'm happy that I have lost a total of 30lbs with preop and post op but I'm getting frustrated because I am hungry but not eating anything substantial and feel like i should be losing the weight right now at least during these first few weeks the most. definately ready for some variety of food, i am sick to death of Protein Shakes, popsicles, liquids and soup!

Everyone's loss is SO varied... I'm 8.5 months out and down just over 80-lbs. It's such an individual thing, but so hard not to compare ourselves to other people on the boards. Honestly, I think that's why I've been away for so long. The 100-lbs in 6-month'ers were a mix of inspiring and maddeningly frustrating....

My 1 yr is just around the corner...I so want the scale to move down...i want to be like the folks who lose 100+ pounds! I tell hubby the same thing...he's very encouraging and tries to motivate me but secretly, I believe my weight loss is over. Lisa, you have quite some time before your year is here...you are not done losing!! Stay positive & motivated :)

Oh no you aren't done losing either! :) I read today that a VSG'er is still losing well into their second year! You will get to your goal. We will just be celebrating later than some. I have a new attitude today. I'm going to be happy and thankful about how far I have come and happy I didn't have any complications like some have. I'm blessed! Thank you again for all of your encouraging words!

Yes, you are so right. I'm a member of a group on Facebook "MaySleevers" and it is the same people all the time. The group is very encouraging but there are a few that are having great success! Some that are in the middle like me and then some that are losing at a very slow pace. I will be happy to just lose something. I know the stall will break. It has too. :) One of the reasons I can't back here is to be able to relate others that have had surgery at all different times.

It definitely is unfair!

I'm trying to do the same thing and stop sulking but it is so hard.

I see you are in ONDERLAND! So awesome. We started out about the same weight. I will be so happy to be in onderland. I sometimes wonder if I will ever get there. So, you had your surgery in March? I had mine on 5/21. I hope I'm were you are in a few months but I don't see it. :(

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
