cacrider 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Hi, everyone! It's been a long wait (delayed once because of a cold) but I'm being banded tomorrow. (Yes, that means today is the dreaded "drink a horse trough full of water" and try -- just try! -- to do anything else for more than 20 minutes. : ) I gave up symphony tickets to friends thinking (rightly, it seems) that I'd better stay home today.... Seriously, I am looking forward to the help the band will/should give me, and not a little nervous: did I make the right choice? will I succeed? will I blow yet another attempt to lose weight? Cheers to all, carol
ralheit 1 Posted October 1, 2006 Carol, congratulations. I'm sure you will hear from all of us that we have spent lifetimes trying to be "normal" size and failed. If I thought I could have done it any other way (less going with a bypass) I wouldn't have done even this. I am not one of the biggest or fastest losers, but I am happy with the dedision. I am steadily losing a little at a time and that is so much better than seeing the scales go higher and higher over and over again. I think you will find that you have made a good decision and like most of us here will be thrilled with your results.
lianna 3 Posted October 1, 2006 Dont let yourself get too nervous!!! The anticipation is worse than the actual surgery. I will not lie, I was sore and tired afterwards.....but I felt like all that worrying was for nothing, lol. You will be fine. I wish you a speedy recovery! cacrider 0 Posted October 2, 2006 Thank you both so much! It's funny how all the worries start now, not months ago when I was researching it all. : ) But I look at the online scales of weight loss and figure: YES, I have made the right choice. Thanks for the reassurance. : ) cheers, carol

Candice 1 Posted October 2, 2006 It will be a HUGE learning experience, so embrace it with open arms. Use this tool to really learn how got where you are in the first place and you will do great. Lord knows my eyes are wide open now. I have no regrets. Your surgery will go just great and it will be behind you before you know it. I had mine on a Wed and went back to work on Monday feeling good. Little gassy from the surgery, but that went away completely after a few days.:clap2:
cacrider 0 Posted October 3, 2006 Just arrived home after surgery yesterday. Looking again at the liquid diet requirements (and having already had the experience of being FULL after 3 oz. of Jello and crystal light), I'm wondering if I've made a big mistake. But I'll chalk it up to new territory jitters. You all seem so positive about it -- that's reassuring. Well, off to rest for a minute. It's so nice and quiet home! cheerio, carol
