I was released from the hospital yesterday at 11:30am. I had horrible gas pain from the start. It was worse than the surgery pain! I finally passed gas today (4 days later) and am feeling MUCH better. My incision sites (5) are healing really nicely. My drainage site is closed up and healing like it should be. I was able to shower this morning, which made me feel better too.

I am still taking liquid Vicodin about twice a day. I walk slowly and need help getting out of bed. I've slept through the night the past 2 nights. I do miss sleeping on my stomach though. I've only lost 3 lbs since the surgery and 12 lbs since the pre-op diet. I can really tell I've lost the weight in my neck/face.

I am taking down liquids, Jello, etc really well. No vomitting or nausea. I had some yogurt today and that sat well with my stomach too. I have been trying to walk as much as I can for a better recovery. Anyone near my surgery date and have only lost a few lbs??

Hi! I was sleeved 10/2 and have maybe lost 10lbs. I think it's still just really early to consider what is actual weight loss. I feel my belly and it's still very swollen, no BMs, etc. A lot of factors contributing to weight right now.

My doc gave me a tip for sitting up that might help you. He said to roll on my side (which still pulls the incisions) and then sit up. Using the side muscles puts less stress on the incisions and doesn't hurt as much.

Sounds like you're doing great. I am going to try yogurt today... Wish me luck :-)

Great job! I hope that yogurt goes well for you. You will not believe how good it tastes :) I will definitely try those tips, thank you. The gas seems to be getting better all the time

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
