Almost 6 Weeks Out, Still Can't Sleep

Recommended Posts

I'm at my second job right now, and I am so sleepy. I worked last night, and I only got about 3 hours of sleep today. I'm not someone who will take something just because, but this is getting ridiculous. I work out, and I'm full of energy on my day job (Mon-Wed), but the switch from working days to nights, and back again is getting harder and harder. I thought I could just wait out until it passes, but I'm thinking about starting to take a sleep aid.

Melatonin helped me. I worked 2 jobs, 3rd and 1rst full shifts and was coming apart because I got no sleep in the little window left. Melatonin saved me.

Here is a good article on its proper use and benefits:

note: make sure your bedroom is dark!

Hello, fellow midnight workers. 3rd shift will mess up your sleep cycle. I take Zyrtek for allergies and that seems to knock me out. I tried Melatonin, but it gave me nightmares, weird. I use to take 1/2 Ambien and that worked like a charm. I was worried about becoming addicted to it, or worse, becoming a victim of sleep eating or driving. Good luck, hope you get some rest.

Melatonin does indeed give you livid dreams. I just got used to them. I haven't had what I call nightmares in a long time, at least while asleep. Those occur during my waking hours as my wife forces me to watch Dancing With the Stars.

My boyfriend takes Ambien because he alternates days and nights. He text me yesterday that Thursday night he made Cookies and cream pot tarts sprinkled with cinnamon and powder sugar and lathered with globs of extra crunchy Peanut Butter and topped with welshers grape jelly. I would die if I woke up with that aftertaste.
