rainbows 35 Posted October 5, 2012 After looking at all the best times to have the surgery done I decided to try to get sleeved dec 26th. Thats right so my 14 day Optifast diet starts before that. I hope I dont loose it between the holiday parties and cookie baking. But I am dedicated and know its worth it Any advice though? I really dont want to just skip out on the holidays this year! But I dont want to be overly irritated either 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Izuri 428 Posted October 5, 2012 Maybe treat yourself with a few holiday foods you love before you start your Optifast diet. Then you won't feel like you cheated yourself out of your holiday foods. Have a pre-holiday dinner with your immediate family? Maybe you could add a little peppermint or pick the chocolate flavor when you're going to be around treats or have some sugar free hard candy on hand for a treat when you have to be around goodies? 2 mom2five and Patienlywtng on my Curves reacted to this
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted October 5, 2012 I stuck to it but it was hard! I was sleeved January 4th. Luckily Hubby is the Holiday Chef.

D2b11f 10 Posted October 6, 2012 I was very tempted to push my date after the holidays , but I really didn't want any more excuses! I got it done on the 1st of October To be honest, before surgery, I ate everything I wanted and did a quick two day diet before surgery! I came out perfectly fine and my only problem is the craving to eat everything. 2 JoyRoyale and JerseyGirl68 reacted to this

taide 2 Posted October 7, 2012 Did your health insurance require you to get in a diet before the surgery?

JerseyGirl68 1,172 Posted October 18, 2012 I'm a week ahead of you but the holidays were definitely thought of. Like you, I said no more excuses. I am not cooking that day, but plan on bringing some stock with me and making some cream of Turkey Soup at my sisters- I'll participate at dinner and get my Protein in. I don't want to "miss" out, so I'm planning ahead. One of the greatest gadgets I have is an immersion blender, stick it in a tall glass or use a pot, it is small enough not to be a big deal to bring.
