HOw can you tell. What is the average? I would like to know what considered fast or slow. I am at a stall week 4 scared I'm not gonna lose anymore that I went through all this for nothing.

That is very normal, it will be okay, you WILL lose more. Watch your foods, make sure they are healthy. I recommend the Smart Ones meals and Healthy Choice meals, they are very healthy and low calorie. You will be fine :)

I am a month out as of today and i had a stall for 2.5 weeks but it just broke. I actually gained 2 lbs (my NUT warned me this might happen) but i weighed in this morning and I am down 1.5 lbs from the lowest I was before the 2 lb weight gain. In total since surgery I have lost 13lbs and compared to others that is slow! I will take 13 to 15lbs a month though which is ALOT more than I was losing before. Everyone is different and it all depends on your age, metabolism, starting weight and how much you lost prior to surgery.

As for the stall your having at week 4...thats normal. For some people it lasts up to 3 weeks but then your body readjusts and starts losing weight. Make sure you take your measurements!! This will help you during the whole process to see your losing inches but maybe not seeing it on the scale.

You are having the 3 week stall. Perfectly normal. Read the link in my sig, it will explain why you are stalling. You are still burning fat, but you are restoring your glycogen reserves, and that means also retaining Water. It will break on its own very soon.

It is kind of strange. I am at 3 months and have been around the same weight +- 2 lb for 2 weeks. How often do these stalls occur? It seems like i have 1 week of losing and 2-3 weeks of stall since about 7 weeks.

There is no average. Just a few guidelines.

1. Higher BMI = more lbs lost. Low BMI= slower loss.

2. Everybody stalls.

3. Everybody is afraid they will be the one person this doesn't work for.

4. Everybody gets discouraged. (that's what we are here for).

5. If you do what you are supposed to do, you will lose.

I am another one slow looser.

Today i start my 5th week and last week I only lost 1lb. My weight went up and down which make me crazy :) But today It went down 0.5 lb below the previous lowest number.

So total since surgery I lost only 16.3 lbs.

I don't like how slow it is moving but I cannot change it. I try to exercise but it is only 20-30 min per day. I become tired. In the size wise I am down to 18W from 22W but so far only jeans because they are stretch. Hopefully will soon wear 18W pants :) I see that my body is stubborn, but I am stubborn as well so will see who win :)

about food it become a bit hard. I notice that it is hard for me to eat meat and fish and I try to avoid it. only eat it if it is mince and cooked after that. but with all shakes and etc... my calories intake between 550-700. so I am not sure but sometimes I think it is a bit too much.

read the link in Butterbean's signature. It is GREAT information. Stalls are totally normal and almost everyone goes through a stall at around 3 weeks. The important thing is not to sweat it. Just relax, keep doing what you are doing, and it will come off. And my biggest piece of advice, DO NOT COMPARE. There will be people that lose faster, there will be people that lose slower. If you start to compare, you will drive yourself crazy and be miserable. Celebrate your own success and be proud of yourself for your accomplishments!

Stalls happen to everyone! I haven't had a stall last more than a week- that being said I'm working out like crazy, so anytime I see the number 4 or 5 days in a row I get really concerned, but eventually it will change. I'm also convinced our bodies are adjusting. On the weeks that I lose very little, the week prior or after I tend to lose more. Our bodies have to catch up and balance out as well. Have no fear! This too shall pass!

Thanks so much for your post because I am at exactly the same place you are. Nice to know others have more faith in us then I do in myself. I love this site! It is a life saver!!

Everyone loses at different rates - but the weight is not all of what it is about. There are times you are going to either not lose much, or nothing and still lose inches.

Get in your protien first. Keep your logs. Focus on something other than the scales.

remind yourself that you have a tool now that you never did...and be patient. Get a tight fitting t shirt and watch it get loose. Even when you dont lose weight!

sleep - you must sleep. A regular 7-8 hour sleeping schedule is as important as anything else mentioned here...yahoo "sleep and weight loss".

Sophie

you don't eat those dinners on a regular basis do you?

i didn't think those foods were acceptable as a basic meal

you measure portion out from box, your 1/3 or 2/3 cup, whatever your NUT says - one WW meal isn't one of our portions to eat?

maybe i'm incorrect???

I am so glad you posted this question. I am 4 weeks out also and didn't lose anything this week. I was so afraid that I was doing something wrong. I couldn't figure out how I ate less than 500 calories each day and didn't lose weight. From all the responses I guess this is normal. Hopefully we will back to losing next week.

Thanks to all who responded, I feel much better now. I was afraid I lost 30 pounds and that was it.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
